The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
